DAY 1 – NEW YORK • PARIS
Begin your Passion Play journey by departing for Paris. Meals and overnight
on board.
DAY 2 – PARIS
Arrival at the Paris airport. Our tour manager will meet us after customs
and we board our private coach for transfer to the hotel. After check-in,
balance of the day is free in the City of Lights. Dinner and overnight.
DAY 3 – PARIS
After breakfast we will enjoy a guided panoramic city tour by bus including
the sights of Place de la Concorde, the Champs Elysees, the Arc de Triomphe,
The Eiffel Tower, The Invalides, the Louvres, the cathedral of Notre
Dame, the Seine river, the Opera, the side walk bistros, and the “Parisian
seducing air” of the Latin Quarter. The afternoon is free for
shopping or individual sightseeing. Dinner and overnight.
DAY 4 – PARIS • VERSAILLES
Guided morning excursion to Versailles, once the capital of France,
to visit the “Sun King” Louis XIV’s Palace. Return
to Paris for the remainder of the afternoon at leisure. You may wish
to enjoy an independent cruise on the Seine. Dinner and overnight.

DAY 5 – PARIS • REIMS • STRASBOURG
Today we leave Paris and head for our next marvel, Reims, in the Champagne
country, where we will visit the magnificent Cathedral with its famous
glass stained round window, and then have a tour of one of the classy
champagne cellars. We proceed to Strasbourg, one of the most important
seats of the European Parliament, and the capital of Alsace. Upon arrival
we will have a guided City tour to view the main sights such as Place
Kleber, the Cathedral of Notre Dame and the water-surrounded “Little
France.” Dinner and overnight.
DAY 6 STRASBOURG • BLACK FOREST • LUCERNE
Driving through the dark forest-covered hills of The Black Forest, this
morning we will stop in Freiburg, rebuilt from heavy damage during WWII,
with its Minster masterpiece of Gothic architecture, and Triberg famous
for its beautiful falls and cuckoo clocks. We continue via Zurich to
the lovely lake shore city of Lucerne. Dinner and overnight.
DAY 7 – LUCERNE
After breakfast enjoy a guided tour on foot of the Old Town with its
pretty open-air market, the unusual covered wooden bridges, Kapell and
Spreuer and the Lion Monument. We have the afternoon free for shopping
and individual sightseeing or an optional excursion to Mt. Pilatus or
Rigi Kulm for the hikers or a boat trip on the lake for the romantics.
Dinner and overnight.
DAY 8 – LUCERNE • INNSBRUCK
This morning we head for Austria and en route we will enter the tiny
Principality of Liechtenstein, have a lunch stop in Vaduz, and continue
through the Voral mountains and the Arlberg Pass to Innsbruck. Upon
arrival our guided city tour by bus and foot will show us the main sights
such as Maria Theresien Strasse, the Belfry, and the charming little
“Golden Roof.” Dinner and overnight. After dinner you may
wish to partake in some Tyrolean folklore entertainment.
DAY 9 – INNSBRUCK • OBERAMMERGAU
Today we head into Germany, first to visit King Ludwig II’s gracious
Linderhof Castle with its cascades and gardens, then on to the health
and winter sports resort of Ettal to see the Benedictine Abbey dating
from 1330 with its famous church. We then continue via the quaint Alp
and Olympic Games resort of Garmish Parten Kirchen up to the Fussen
area to visit Mad King Ludwig II’s other creation, Newschwanstein
Castle (Disney’s fairytale inspiration). Evening arrival in Oberammergau,
site of the Passion Play. Dinner and overnight.
DAY 10 – OBERAMMERGAU
Full day in Oberammergau for the Passion Play. A village in the Bavarian
Alps, famous for its woodcarving industry. In the year of 1633, the
town was stricken by the plague. In desperation the people of the village
took an oath that they would stage a performance of the Passion of Jesus
every 10 years if the plague would vanish and save their town. The town
was saved and the first performance took place in 1634. From 1690 on,
the play has been performed regularly every 10 years. The Play takes
almost eight hours to perform and the 124 speaking parts are performed
by inhabitants of the village. The audience is seated in a roofed auditorium
while the stage is open-air. Lunch and dinner are included.
DAY 11 – OBERAMMERGAU • MUNICH
We motor to Munich today, the happy and jovial Capital of Bavaria. After
check-in at the hotel we will enjoy a guided panoramic city tour by
bus taking us to Marienplatz, the lovely church of Our Lady, the Palace
the City Hall with its famous Glockenspiel Clock and the Olympic village.
Included is a visit to the Nymphenburg Palace with its beautiful park
and fountains. Dinner and overnight.
DAY 12 – MUNICH • NEW YORK
Transfer to Munich airport where our guide will assist us with check
in procedures. Board our hometown flight arriving home the same day.
