DAY 1 – NEW YORK • VIENNA
Begin your Passion Play journey by departing for Vienna. Meals and overnight
on board.
DAY 2 • VIENNA
Arrive in Vienna. We meet our tour guide and transfer to our hotel.
The balance of the day is at leisure for shopping and sightseeing. Welcome
dinner and overnight at our hotel.
DAY 3 • VIENNA
After breakfast our panoramic guided morning tour will get us acquainted
with the capital of Austria. We visit the main sights such as Hofburg
Imperial Palace, with the Spanish Riding School. We will drive along
the 2 mile Ring, view the Opera House, the City Hall, the Houses of
Parliament, the Burgtheater, Beethoven’s Pasqualia Haus and St.
Stephen’s Dome. Afternoon visit Albertina, home ot the world’s
largest collection of drawings, sketches, engravings, and etchings.
Next door is the 14th -century Augustinerkirche. We visit the Nationalbibliothek
(the National Library), with its stunning Baroque great hall. Dinner
at the hotel.
DAY 4 • VIENNA
Our morning tour takes us to the beautiful Schonbrunn Palace with its
refreshing fountains. Afternoon at leisure. Tonight we will enjoy a
typical Heuringen dinner in Grinzing.
DAY 5 • VIENNA • MELK • SALZBURG
On the road again, with our first stop in Melk to visit the imposing
Benedictine Abbey of Melk overlooking the Danube. We proceed to Mozart’s
Salzburg where we take a guided walking tour upon arrival showing us
the Old Town, the Domplatz with Baroque Cathedral, the Residenz, the
quaint Getriedegasse, the Festspeilhaus, the Hohensalzburg from a distance,
the Glockenspiel Tower, the lovely Mirabell Garden and visit Mozart’s
birthplace. Dinner and overnight at the hotel.
DAY 6 • SALZBURG
This morning we start our Sound of Music Tour, bringing back memories
from the film with the same name. Afternoon free for shopping. Enjoy
a dinner show this evening. Overnight at the hotel.
DAY 7 • SALZBURG • OBERAMMERGAU
Today we drive through the Tyrolean Alps as we continue to Innsbruck
for a lunch break and a short orientation drive to catch a glimpse of
the Maria Theresien Strasse and the charming Little Golden Roof. We
proceed into Germany to King Ludwig II’s beautiful Linderhof Castle
with its cascades and gardens. Just before entering Oberammergau we
visit the Ettal Benedic-tine Abbey. Dinner and overnight at our hotel.
DAY 8 • OBERAMMERGAU
Full day in Oberammergau for the Passion Play. Oberammergau is in the
Bavarian Alps, famous for its woodcarving industry. In the year 1633,
the town was stricken by the plague. In desperation the people of the
village took an oath that they would stage a performance of the Passion
of Jesus every 10 years if the plague would vanish and save their town.
The town was saved and the first performance took place in 1634. From
1690 on, the play has been performed regularly every 10 years. The play
takes almost eight hours to perform and the 124 speaking parts are performed
by inhabitants of the village. The audience is seated in a roofed auditorium
while the stage is open-air. Lunch and dinner are included.
DAY 9 • OBERAMMERGAU • LUCERNE
Before leaving Germany today we visit King Ludwig II’s Neuschwanstein
Castle, Disney’s fairy-tale inspiration. We continue through the
Voral Mountains into the tiny Principality of Liechtenstein, have a
lunch stop in Vaduz, before entering Switzerland and the lovely lake
shore city of Lucerne. Dinner at the hotel.
DAY 10 • LUCERNE
After breakfast we enjoy a morning guided walking tour featuring the
Old Town, with its pretty open air market, the unusual covered wooden
bridges Kapell and Spreuer and the Lion Monument. Afternoon free for
shopping and individual sightseeing or optional excursion to Mt. Pilatus
or Rigi Kulm for the hikers or a leisurely boat trip on the lake for
the romantics. Dinner at the hotel.
DAY 11 • LUCERNE • MILAN
Today we drive south through the St. Gotthard Tunnel, via scenic lake
lands with short stops en route, on the Swiss side Lugano or Italian
side Como, and arrive in Milan. Upon arrival we enjoy a panoramic guided
city tour featuring the Scala Opera, the Cathedral and a visit to Marie
delle Grazie church to see Leonardo da Vinci’s famous painting
“The Last Supper”. Dinner at the hotel.
DAY 12 • MILAN
Start the day at the Duomo and visit its roof and museum and then move
on to Galeria Vittoria Emanuelel. Contiue to the Pinacoteca di Brera,
home to stellar Masterpieces. Visit the church of Sant’ Ambrogio
and Museo Nazionale della Scienza e della Tecnica. Dinner and overnight.

DAY 13 • MILAN • NEW YORK
Transfer to the airport for our hometown flight and arrive home the
same day.
